Busy times Ahead

The AGM proved to be a very good meeting for all. Everyone participated in discussing ideas for use of the new building with many suggestions to be filtered through and the practicalities considered. It is clear though that we have the potential to be very very busy.

Reports from a number of members of the church were encouraging with high praise for all of the small groups, worship and children's work.

The final costs for the building were presented to members as was a summary or work remaining. Whilst the final of final totals is not going to be known until the builders leave we remain in credit in the building account with just enough to finish the job to a satisfactory standard, certainly well enough to function as we do now.

The pavement on John Street at the back of the building bore the hallmarks of pneumatic drill activity yesterday evening indicating that the electricity company have been to switch on the power. Also the floor screeding originally planned for last weekend started on Monday with the back end of the building having a floor 8 inches higher than the main hall. The main hall will be screeded this weekend (a bank holiday) thus giving it time to dry.
